AHEAD (Augmented Hearing Experience and Assistance for Daily life) is a project running from 1st June 2013 till 30th May 2016. It´s aim is to help elderly people with devices they already use, namely eye glasses and hearing aid. By adding a microphone to the glasses the devices can do full communication (input and output) by enabling voice control. The assistant is able to remind the user of important tasks such as taking medicines or to advise the user against possible harms like a forgotten, running stove. The assistant can be easily and inconspicuously integrated in already used devices. In further steps the hearing aid can be used to measure vital signs like heart rate through sensors in the ear.
