Welcome

OpenAAL is a distribution of the universAAL middleware platform funded by the European Community's Seventh Framework Programme. The distribution is currently maintained at the FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik by Oliver Strnad and is the software solution powering the FZI Living Lab AAL and some projects like OptimAAL. With OpenAAL you can start composing and developing your own Ambient Assisted Living services out of the box. To get yourself familiar with the middleware you can download the latest release and work through our tutorials or browse the already existing bundles and see whether they can be of help for you.

AAL-Kongress 2012 2455945.519 January 2012 This year you can find the OpenAAL team at the AAL-Kongress 2012 on January, 24th/25th in Berlin. We will be available at the FZI booth between the different sessions.
Uaal Creator News 2455888.523 November 2011 The new Uaal Creator is now available. It can be used to create a *.uaal file containing the required bundles and the configuration ontology.
Configuration Extractor 2455883.518 November 2011 The new Configuration Extractor is now available. It can be used to create a configuration ontology for a usecase.
Initial release 2455796.523 August 2011 As of today our webpage is available to the public. Feel free to have a look at our download section and the tutorials. :)
Roadmap update 2455792.519 August 2011 Meeting about Roadmap and scope of openAAL. The openAAL team has updated the roadmap and will publish it soon.
House status 2455757.515 July 2011 The first version of the House Status is now ready. It can be used to display the current state of sensors on a customizable website.
Updated bundles 2455631.511 March 2011 There are new bundles available for you to download. One bundle contains an integration of the wide-spread HomeMatic-sensors, an InfoFrame to generate RSS-Feeds from different sources and a first integration of the SensFloor. All bundles can be found in our Subversion system or in this Wiki.


Get openAAL

Releases

The current stable version of OpenAAL is v2.0 running on top of universAAL 0.3.0. You can get your own copy of OpenAAL on our Download-page or check out the latest development version from our Subversion repository.

FS20 Sensors Integrates the most widely used FS20 sensors in OpenAAL.

RaumComputer Integrates sensors and actors connected to the RaumComputer middleware.
